The 2011 celebrations!
In 2011 we once more celebrated St George’s Day with a golf tournament and festive ball hosted at Bedford and County Golf Club and the Park Inn, Bedford respectively.
Despite the worsening economic situation we are delighted to report that we still managed to raise the very best part of £20,000 that we have been able to donate to local causes as usual with the largest single donation, £10,000, being made to MIND.
2012 The celebrations continue!
In 2012 we aim, with your help, to continue our fundraising and add to our running total that now exceeds £355,000 since the events began back in 1994.
Our main beneficiary in 2012 will be the Gamma Plus Appeal by the Bedford Hospital’s Charity that aims to raise £600,000 to support the newly installed Gamma Camera, and once more our celebrations pay tribute to the memory of Dave Ledsom without whom there would be no St George’s Day Charity Fund. We hope that you will find a way to join us at either or both of our celebrations and enable us to help the many causes that have come to depend on the assistance that through your continued generosity we are able to provide.
At the golf we shall once more be offering a patriotic programme and at the ball we will be entertained by The Brigade of Guards Dance Band to assist with our patriotic singing and the by now unmissable Ceremony of The Beef! Our thanks to SDC Builders Ltd of Bedford for their continued sponsorship of our entertainment. Look out for a few new traditional twists too!
We continue to work closely with The Rotary Club of Bedford Park to identify worthy recipients for the funds that our supporters help us to raise.

The St George’s Day Festive Ball will take place on Saturday 21st April at The Park Inn, Bedford.
The St George’s Golf Day at Bedford & County Golf Club will take place on St George’s Day itself Monday 23rd April.

GREEN AND TEE SPONSORSHIP
We seek sponsorship at £150.00 for the first year of participation and £100.00 thereafter. We will provide the boards using your wording. The mathematicians amongst you will see the big impact that a full take up of the 36 sites will have on our funds. Can you help?! Will other companies you know help?
CHARITIES
In accordance with our aims and objectives all funds raised, with no deductions for administration whatsoever, are paid to charities which benefit people from Bedford and the surrounding area.
As in previous years, in addition to our main donations, we will be providing grants of either £250 or £500 to local charities and good causes. If you know of a charity or good cause that you think would benefit from a grant please provide us with the details.
Since the events began in 1994 over £355,000 has been raised for local causes. We thank you most sincerely for your support and your contribution to this massive total.
